We offer a changing variety of classes designed to teach you more about quilting and whet your appetite for new projects. Classes are limited to 8 participants and fill up quickly, so register early!

Note: On Full-Day Classes, a break will be given. Bring your own sack lunch or go out!

Open Lab Quilting Workshop

This is an open-sew time when you can bring all your problems to a quilting instructor. She will help you solve problems and give you confidence so you can finish that never-ending project or start a new o

 

Kwik Sew Jacket Class

Free to QFL members and $30 for non-members.

The Jacket is reversible and has different lengths. The sample is the shorter version. Choose 2 fabrics, Batiks are great and we will work with you to put them together to make a jacket. Two, in fact, because it is reversible!

Using an innovative piecing and folding technique, this quilt will have a three dimensional look to it that you will love. Make it scrappy or more planned. Either way, it's sure to be a hit.

Do you want to learn the art of hand quilting - the way your Grandmother quilted? Learn the technique, the difference in battings, what type of thread to use, and how to quilt with or without a hoop.

This is a class for beginners or sewers who would like to learn a few pointers on quilting. You will learn exact cutting, sewing and quilting in the ditch. We start with picking out the fabric and you will have a nearly completed project at the end of the 3rd class. Just a little hand sewing to do.

 

 

 

Finishing and Binding Finishing and Binding Class

We will talk about borders and how to keep them from being wavy, show you how to miter a corner, make scalloped edges, prairie points and binding tips for whatever type of edge you have, also double sided binding.

 

Machine Quilting

Thursday, September 16, 6:00 - 9:00pm

Fee: $15 plus required book

Your quilt top is pieced-so now what? Learn the basics of straight line, echo quilting, stippling and more. You will need a darning foot and walking foot for your sewing machine and know how to lower the feed dogs (be sure to bring your Owner's Manual with you to class). Practice techniques on a muslin 'quilt sandwich' and be amazed at what you can do. Machine tensions, marking, batting, basting and equipment will be discussed.

 

Machine Appliqué Working With Fusibles For Applique Class

Have you ever wanted to do a McKenna Ryan pattern and it looked too hard! No fear, your help is here! This class will teach you about fusible web products and their use and how to get the delightful designs from paper to fabric. Patterns by Patchabilities work great for this class also!!!
