We offer a changing variety of classes designed to teach you more about quilting and whet your appetite for new projects. Classes are limited to 8 participants and fill up quickly, so register early!
Bargello
Instructor: Nadine Sauer

Learn to make one of the most popular and beautifully unique designs of today using rectangles sewn into peaks and slopes of gradual color change. Made using a quick strip method. You’ll impress yourself and others with your results!
Just Around the Bend

Get out of your ‘creative box’ and explore new territories! Use just 3 fabrics and choose from 13 designs to create a one-of-a-kind quilt. You’ll enjoy the ease of constructing the blocks and the fun of rearranging to the layout that delights you. You’ll be amazed at your classmate’s quilts – so very different from others and using the same blocks!! Take a break from your chores and list of projects and treat yourself to a day of creativity.
Hand Quilting

Beginning Quilt Making

This 3 session class will take you step by step through the basics of the quilt making process. In the first session you will pick out the fabric for your creation and learn how to cut and measure accurately. Session two will concentrate on sewing—how to read and understand quilting terms, sew ¼” seams, pressing and more. The third session will focus on quilting and binding including selecting batting, sizing of backing for quilting, squaring up and figuring the amount of binding needed, negotiating the corners and finishing right down to the label.
Intermediate Hand Appliqué

If you have dabbled in the world of hand appliqué and want to work on those points, curves and would love to do a beautiful wall hanging, this is the class for you. You will learn from an expert, different options for hand appliqué. You will learn needle turn, freezer paper techniques, reverse appliqué and more.
4 Patch Posies

Get in on the latest “hot” design trend! Learn this variation of the fabric stacking technique as well as ‘on point’ setting and the use of sashing. You’ll love the wonderfully unique look and the chance to showcase some great fabric.
Machine Quilting Basics
Instructor: Nadine Sauer

Your quilt top is pieced—so now what? Learn the basics of straight line, echo quilting, stippling and more. You will need a darning foot and walking foot for your sewing machine and know how to lower the feed dogs (be sure to bring your Owner’s Manual with you to class). Practice techniques on a muslin ‘quilt sandwich’ and be amazed at what you can do. Machine tensions, marking batting, basting and equipment will be discussed.

You’ve got the quilt top pieced - now what? Learn about binding methods and techniques for crisp corners. How to measure and stitch borders so there are no ‘waves’ and learn about mitered corners, scalloped edges and more. There’s more to a quilt than piecing the top. Learn how to complete the project with style.
It’s A Wrap – Basket or Wall Hanging

English Paper Piecing

Learn this beautiful and classic hand piecing technique that uses paper shapes as foundation to accurately prepare patchwork pieces for joining. We’ll be making a wall hanging that has five blocks with the hexagon shape using the English Paper Piecing method and four machine pieced nine-patch blocks. You will also learn how to make and bind a scalloped edge!
Suska’s Sunrise Sunset

Enjoy the splendor of this magnificent quilt! This is a quick and easy method of doing curves – don’t be afraid! Learn this modern version of the Drunkards Path quilt design. We will be making the templates for these 8” blocks and using different layouts – you can even create your own layout design. Join us for this new class!
Scrappy Log Cabin Bag
