Susan Breier

Susan Breier

Susan Breier thought that retirement was the dream she'd kept in mind as she placed her working days behind her. Yes, she did enjoy herself, but then became bored and began looking for something meaningful to fill her time. Her childhood love for crafts of most any form came to mind and as she dove back in to this world of arts she soon became interested in fiber art.

Her discovery of the endless possibilities of mixing line with fabric became a journey that led Susan to having her first book recently published by Martingale. It's A Wrap contains instructions and diagrams for baskets, bowls and purses. Susan advises, "take a break from quilting perfection and sew up something fun and unusual!"

Pat Ehrenberg

Instructor Pat EhrenbergPat has been an avid quilter for more than 20 years. Pat first learned to work with fabric as a little girl and found her love for quilting when she took some classes at a fabric shop in New London, Wisconsin. Nearly 10 years ago, she started a quilting guild called the Sew Happy Stitchers in Ripon.

She is registered with the Wisconsin Arts Board as a heritage skills artist. Through them and along with the Smithsonian Institute, Pat was chosen to showcase her work at the Folk Life Festival in Washington D.C. She also was honored to be one of nine Wisconsin artists to work at the People's Day Festival in Chiba, Japan.

Pat is currently teaching A Study In Color.

Susie Kubatzki

Susie KubatzkiSusie moved to Neshkoro (30 miles west of Oshkosh) from Milwaukee in 2004 where she taught at Quilters Heaven Quilt Shop. It is her mission to share the quilting tips and shortcuts that she's learned in the past few years - she says she wants everyone to profit from her mistakes!!

She shows students that quilting is fun and easy, and says, "if you know your way around a sewing machine and you can sew a straight line, you can quilt!" Quilting is her passion and she is happy to share her love of the craft. Lovingly called the 'Queen of Stack 'n Whack' at QuiltEssentials, she also does long arm quilting professionally.

Nadine SauerNadine Sauer

Nadine has sewn since the age of 10 when she was in 4H. She got started quilting in 1994 in Oshkosh when her daughter, Susan, who had never sewn and was out of college, bought a quilt book. They both took up the challenge and started quilting. Shortly thereafter, Nadine moved to Jasper, Indiana, where the ladies at her church taught her to hand quilt. They also gave her the opportunity to piece as they made more than 30 raffle quilts a year.

In 1997, she moved to El Dorado, Arkansas where she met weekly with a group of quilters and learned even more techniques. In 2000, Nadine packed up the moving truck once again and moved to Auburn, Maine and met a group of ladies who did everything by hand. They were excellent teachers and in addition to learning new techniques she also learned appliqué. Nadine worked at a quilt shop in Maine, coincidentally named QuiltEssentials! There she learned about bargello quilting.

In 2004, Nadine moved back to Oshkosh and we are extremely grateful and happy to have her as part of the QuiltEssentials (Wisconsin) team!
