Nadine SauerNadine Sauer

Nadine has sewn since the age of 10 when she was in 4H. She got started quilting in 1994 in Oshkosh when her daughter, Susan, who had never sewn and was out of college, bought a quilt book. They both took up the challenge and started quilting. Shortly thereafter, Nadine moved to Jasper, Indiana, where the ladies at her church taught her to hand quilt. They also gave her the opportunity to piece as they made more than 30 raffle quilts a year.

In 1997, she moved to El Dorado, Arkansas where she met weekly with a group of quilters and learned even more techniques. In 2000, Nadine packed up the moving truck once again and moved to Auburn, Maine and met a group of ladies who did everything by hand. They were excellent teachers and in addition to learning new techniques she also learned appliqué. Nadine worked at a quilt shop in Maine, coincidentally named QuiltEssentials! There she learned about bargello quilting.

In 2004, Nadine moved back to Oshkosh and we are extremely grateful and happy to have her as part of the QuiltEssentials (Wisconsin) team!
